Melody Coniglio is the Director of Transportation for Kenston Local School District in Geauga County. Kenston is comprised of Bainbridge and Auburn Townships. She previously served as Transportation Manager at Koinonia Homes, a Bus Driver at Lake County Board of DD in Mentor, and Summer Crew Manager, Bus Aide and Bus Driver at Highlands County Schools in Sebring, Florida.

Melody holds a certification in special needs transportation (CSNT) from the National Association for Pupil Transportation, and she is a proud graduate of Garfield Heights High School (Class of 1994) in Garfield Hts Ohio.
Melody began her transportation career in 1995 as a bus aide and quickly moved on to become a bus driver, eventually taking on a management role in the transportation field. She has written and received grants benefiting organizations in the amount of $655,000.00. Melody has been active with the School Bus Safety Road-e-o as a participant, judge and chair in both the North and Northeast regions in Ohio throughout the years. In 2015 she hosted the Pre-Service Advanced Driver Training Program at Kenston High School. Her department also does a variety of community outreach programs within their area benefiting those in need.

Melody has been a repeat presenter at the Ohio Association for Pupil Transportation (OAPT) Annual Conference and Trade Show. She began serving the OAPT board in 2015 as the Secretary, and is now the President. Her membership in OAPT has enabled her to form relationships with other transportation professionals that she will treasure for a lifetime. In addition, Melody is proud to be a member of the OASBO and NAPT.

She also received awards for Outstanding Team Award from Koinonia Homes in 2013 and a commendation from Kenston Local School District for her efforts in receiving the CSNT certificate from NAPT in 2016 — she is the first recipient of this certification in the State of Ohio and just the ninth in the United States. In August of 2018 she received the Coin of Excellence Award from Kenston Local School District. In 2019 Melody received the 2019 Outstanding Transportation Director of the Year award from OASBO.

Melody and her husband Anthony reside in Chardon with their two children, Kendra (24 years old) and Vinny (17 years old). Melody and Anthony welcomed their first grandchild, Kasey in September 2018. As a family, they spend most of their time enjoying watching their children play sports, participate in Boy/Girls Scouts and camping.

Melody and her Husband Anthony have been active in the scout programs as volunteers for many years. Melody has been the Committee Chair while her son was in the Cub Scouts and while her daughter was a Girl Scout she was a Troop Leader and Neighborhood Manager. Currently the Coniglio’s are excited to see Vinny reach his goal of Eagle Scout. In addition to her family activities, Melody has coached both youth and middle school cheerleading as well as youth basketball. She enjoys camping, traveling and photography. In her off time you can catch her and husband photographing weddings and nature.
